Major FBI Whistleblower Story Breaking This Weekend November 18, 2007

Posted by Daniel Downs in crime, FBI, law, lawlessness, whistle blowers.

This is an unrelated story about a Washington Post investigation into abuses by the FBI that will be aired Sunday Night on 60 minutes at 7pm. One of the primary sources of this investigative report is Dr. Frederic Whitehurst, the original FBI whistleblower whose shocking disclosures were the impetus for many of the so-called “reforms” in the FBI Crime Lab. He and David K. Colapinto, General Counsel for National Whistleblower Center, will be real-time blogging after the 60 Minutes program. If interested, visit the National Whistleblowers Blog. To read more about this program, see their post and the 60 Minutes story.

Notice, the theme is about lawless in America. It is horrific when ordinary citizens convince lawmakers to pass laws to address issues even though those very laws presumably conforming to civil rights violate the Supreme law of the land. It is even more unconscionable when those who are supposed to uphold and defend law against criminals defy law as well. The bigger issue becomes one of trust. Who then can citizens trust?
