The current state of America seems a little burdened with recession looming over the world, the seriousness of the presidential race, drastic shifts in weather, storms, tornadoes and death. May are overworked and the number of people going crazy being unemployed for a long time is increasing. That is the reason for opportunity to have a little fun is so inviting.

You know the adage, ‘All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy. That syndrome is also known as dimwitedness, to which I can sometimes relate.

So, I want to pass on a unique opportunity for a moment of possible fun. I have just finished registering and voting for my most favorite city in the world at the Hasbro World Monopoly game website. The makers of Monopoly are inviting fans (I qualified as such about 20 years ago) worldwide to vote in an on-line contest to determine which 22 cities will be etched in the collective memory for a new global edition of the 75-year-old game.

The contest, which began on January 22 and continues through February 28, will allow Monopoly fans the world over to cast their ballots for the 10 best cities from a pre-selected list, including Jerusalem, Israel. Voting on wild card cities (ones voters write-in) will continue until March 9.

  • The 20 cities with the highest number of votes will appear on the new global Monopoly board.
  • You can vote EVERY DAY up to March 9.
  • Seriously consider making Jerusalem, the most valuable city on Monopoly.

Here is how it works:

  1. Go to Hasbro’s site.
  2. In the right-pane, click ‘Sort By: Cities’ (see our diagram)
  3. Scroll down to ‘Jerusalem, Israel’ > Click it.
  4. A pop-up appears, click ‘Add to My Cities’.
  5. A small picture of Jerusalem should appear in lower section of the screen.
  6. Repeat #3-5 to select any other cities you would like to vote on. (Keep Jerusalem United would like for you to vote only for Jerusalem in order to make the most valuable city.)
  7. Click Vote.
  8. Click ‘Create your login now.’
  9. Enter a desired Username and Password > Click Save.
  10. You will receive a confirmation email at the entered address.
  11. Click the link in the email.
  12. Once a day until Mar. 9, repeat Steps 1 through 6.
  13. Have fun!

Have any question, don’t ask me ask the experts at Hasbro.
